Our Mandate to Watch and Pray
COMMAND
"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."
[1 Timothy 2:1-4]
GUARANTEE
"If My people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then, will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
[2 Chronicles 7:14]
GOAL
To encourage Christians to pray for their nation and to establish weekly prayer meetings in their Legislatures, City Halls, Churches, and Homes.

BC Prayer Meetings
Some of our groups have found that sitting in on the public Council meetings held in their City Hall is very beneficial.
They usually come earlier and pick up an agenda on the counter, then head into the Council Chambers, where they sit in the back of the public seating area and quietly pray. When the meeting begins, they cover with prayer each piece of city business as it comes up.
As the meetings are open to the public, there is no permission needed to attend. Each Prayer Post Partner has made a vital commitment to, not only pray for their city, but also get first hand knowledge of how their Mayor and Councillors operate, even if they can only stay for the first hour of the Council meeting.
We have two sample letters that might be of use to you: Letter to the Mayor and a letter sent to us from the NWT Legislative Assembly, granting a prayer meeting.
